This was 3rd time out for Awesome Barows. He switched the surface to Dirt for the first time.
Awesome Barows was fast from the gate and looked going to the front. The Jockey tried settled him and the horse was pulled hard in outside of the front runner.
He passed the horse in front in the home stretch, looked like he was the winner. But one more horse came off the pace and just passed him before the finishing line. Awesome Barows was beaten in 2nd place. Awesome Barows proved that he is able to handle the dirt. He left a task that he is needed to settle down more in early part of race.

Bunny Tail had not run since last summer in Sapporo. She was the 2nd favorite for this race.
She jumped off good and got the ideal position, looking at the front group. She made up some ground and coming out the final bend, she was just behind the eventual winner. She was chasing hard to catch the winner but she was just short of neck, beaten in 2nd place.
Bunny Tail showed her improvement and proved that she is well able to compete and graduate the maiden in the near future.
