Great Pearl was the odd-on favorite for this time again. He was slow into the stride as usual. The Jockey, Christopher Lemaire, decided not to rush him because the other horses were much faster from the gate. Great Pearl settled in back of the field.
He started making move in the back stretch. Going 7 wide coming around the turn, cruising. Coming out of the final bend, Great Pearl was catching up the front 2 horses. He was asked and started to stretch his stride. He passed the horses in front and won by 1 3/4 lengths.
It was a tough race for the horse, going very wide throughout the race, but in the end it didn’t matter. Great Pearl seems to find where he is the best at.
