Eclair Sparkle won on his first time out last race. This time he ran in the top level of race Wakaba Stakes (Japanese 2000 Guineas Trial). He was chosen to be the 2nd favorite, even it was the 2nd time out for the horse.
He started well and traveled in the middle of field. He was pressed before the final bend, but he kept finding more and more. In the end he was upside of the winner. He was nose short and beaten in 2nd place.
Eclair Sparkle tried really hard and ran his heart out. It was a brave effort.
He is not a big horse but certainly he has a big heart.

Fontana Liri won her last time out. She stepped up a class this time.
She was pushed to get a hand position going into the first turn. She traveled comfortably. She was pressed coming around the final bend. She chased the winner so hard but she was a neck short and finished 2nd.
Fontana Liri will graduate this class no problem soon or later.
